Brief Description: Flight #3, Flt test #3, Validate engine reliabilit
Todays flight was primarily to evaluate the engine. I climbed to about 4000 feet over the airport and ran lines logging the flight information.
Basic info was as follows: Alt setting: 30.04" OAT: 13.3c Alt: 3800ft IAS: 106mph RPM: 2950 EGT: 1050f, #1 cyl hottest CHT: 450f, #1 cyl hottest OT: 205f OP: 50psi
Image #1 shows the Google Earth track from the Bendix-King AV8OR KML file. Image #2 shows the APRS track at 1 minute intervals.
At the end of the flight, I was only getting about 2600rpm WOT. This needs to be resolved before the next flight.
I wasn't getting a display on the A/F ratio meter. I found the fuse was blown, and the sensor apparently shorted. I removed the sensor and installed a blanking plug.
Received my permanent Repairman Certificate card yesterday. Took about 6 weeks for it to arrive. Plastic laminated wallet size card that looks like a pilot certificate but says "Repairman Experimental Aircraft".
